Harriet Beecher Stowe
Harriet Beecher Stowe was the author of the famous abolitionist book “Uncle Tom’s Cabin”. This book energized the north and exposed the raw and harsh truth of slavery. Although it united the north, the book continued on the trend that the north and the south could not compromise. In combination with her famous piece, she also wrote around 20 more books in her lifetime before she died in 1896.
“When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you, till it seems as though you could not hold on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn.”
